After only 3 months in "our base camp in Vancouver" following 6 months cycling through Europe, our African projects are taking shape.
Just as we were about to give up temporarily on the crazy idea of crossing part of Africa in a Tuk Tuk for lack of credible contact with a Tuk Tuk salesman, a last-minute opportunity presented itself with a chance encounter via the internet with Doug. Doug sells Piaggio Tuk Tuks built in India. Enthralled by the idea and the project, he made a major contribution to the success of a project that many had dismissed as an impossible dream.

The vagaries of life and a slow adjustment to the realities of living in a big modern city like Vancouver meant that we lost track of our blog. The story and adventures of the experience remain to be told here as we are already cycling back on the East European roads
